What does a session feel like, and how do I get started?
Lay the blanket flat, switch it on and let it warm up, then lie on it and fold the sides over you with your head out of the neck opening. Use the hand controller to set your temperature and timer. Start at a lower setting for your first session, build up as you get comfortable, and keep water nearby. An English user manual is included in the box.
How hot does it get, and do I control it?
You do. Temperature is adjustable from 30 to 75°C (86 to 167°F) and the timer runs from 5 to 60 minutes. The hand controller has temperature up and down buttons and a separate timer, so you choose the level and length that feel right for you. It's a dry-heat experience that warms you directly where you lie.
Is it the same as a real infrared sauna?
It heats with far infrared heating elements built into a blanket. It is a warm, dry-heat session at home that's convenient, compact and easy to store, but it isn't a replacement for a full-size sauna cabin. It also does not include red light.
Is it safe? I've heard some sauna blankets overheat.
It's a fair question, and we'd rather answer it plainly. This blanket is built in six layers and includes overheat protection that automatically reduces power if the blanket overheats, plus an insulated fire-protection heating line.
