Your recovery routine, paid for with pre-tax dollars

Recovery equipment is a real investment. If you have an HSA or FSA, Truemed may help you put those pre-tax funds toward eligible Ritual Exhale products. Qualified customers save an average of 30%.*

What is an HSA?

A Health Savings Account lets you set aside pre-tax dollars for qualified medical expenses. Funds generally stay with you from year to year.

What is an FSA?

A Flexible Spending Account is usually offered through an employer. For most plans, unused funds expire at the end of the plan year, so check your deadline.

What does Truemed do?

Truemed connects HSA/FSA account holders with independent licensed practitioners who review a health survey and, if appropriate, may issue a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN).

Truemed can't open or fund an HSA or FSA for you. Ask your employer or plan administrator about your account. Truemed is currently available to customers in the United States.

How it saves you money

How does using HSA/FSA funds save me money?

Money in an HSA or FSA is set aside before income taxes. When qualified customers pay for eligible products with those pre-tax funds, they save an average of 30%.*

Pre-tax dollars go in

HSA and FSA contributions generally come out of your paycheck before income taxes, so those dollars haven't been reduced by income tax.

Eligible items, paid pre-tax

Qualified customers can put those funds toward eligible products, either with a Truemed LMN or on a pre-approved product.

The difference adds up

Paying with pre-tax funds instead of after-tax dollars is where the savings come from: an average of 30% for qualified customers.*

Your own savings depend on your tax situation and plan, and not every customer qualifies. The 30% figure is an average, not a promise and not a discount on the product's price.* This isn't tax advice, so ask your plan administrator or a tax professional about your account.

Step by step

How paying with HSA/FSA works

  1. Choose an eligible product

Look for the HSA/FSA note on the product page, or browse the list below.

  2. Select Truemed at checkout

Choose “Truemed – Pay with HSA/FSA” under payment options. Express buttons such as Shop Pay and Apple Pay skip this step, so use the standard checkout.

  3. Complete the health survey

For products that need an LMN, you'll fill out Truemed's clinical intake form, a health survey about the condition you want to address. Pre-approved products skip it.

  4. Practitioner review

An independent licensed practitioner reviews your survey and, if appropriate, issues your LMN. Your card is authorized but not charged until the review is complete.

  5. Get your LMN and receipt

If an LMN is issued, your payment completes and you receive your LMN and receipt by email. Keep both for your records.

Not approved? If an LMN isn't issued, your HSA/FSA card is not charged and you can choose another way to pay.

Two kinds of eligible products

What “pre-approved” means, and when you need an LMN

No LMN required

Pre-approved products

These products fall in categories that already meet established medical-care standards, so they don't need a practitioner's review.

  • No health survey
  • No Letter of Medical Necessity or practitioner review
  • Select Truemed, enter your HSA/FSA card and your payment processes at checkout
  • You receive a receipt to keep for your records
With a Truemed LMN

Products that need a Letter of Medical Necessity

These products can serve more than one purpose, so they may qualify when they are used to address a specific health condition.

  • Short health survey (clinical intake form) at checkout
  • An independent licensed practitioner reviews your answers
  • If an LMN is issued, your card is charged and the LMN is emailed to you
  • You keep both your LMN and your receipt

Not sure which one applies? Each product below is tagged. If your cart has both kinds, each item follows its own process.*

Good to know

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)?

An LMN is a letter from an independent licensed practitioner stating that a product may be needed to address a specific health condition. Your HSA/FSA administrator can use it to support your purchase.

How do you get one? You complete Truemed's health survey during checkout. A practitioner reviews it and, if appropriate, issues the letter, which is emailed to you along with your receipt.

Who decides? Eligibility is decided individually, based on the health information you share. Not every customer qualifies, and neither Ritual Exhale nor Truemed can predict a practitioner's decision.

Keep your records

Save your LMN email and your receipt. Truemed recommends keeping them for 3 years.

The cost is built in

The cost of Truemed's services is included in the purchase price of eligible products.

Your health, your call

HSA/FSA is one option at checkout. Our standard payment methods stay available.

Three ways to pay

HSA/FSA card at checkout

Select Truemed, complete the steps above and pay with your HSA/FSA card.

Split your payment

If your HSA/FSA card falls short, or your cart includes items that aren't eligible, pay the remainder with a personal card at checkout. Split payment is available on one-time purchases.

Pay another way, then get reimbursed

If you pay with a regular card, Truemed emails instructions for submitting your receipt to your HSA/FSA administrator. Reimbursement decisions are made by your administrator.

HSA/FSA questions

Is Ritual Exhale HSA/FSA eligible?

Yes! You may be able to use your HSA or FSA funds for eligible Ritual Exhale products through our partnership with Truemed. Eligibility depends on the product and, for most products, requires a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN). See the list of eligible products above.*

What does “pre-approved” mean?

Pre-approved products fall in categories that already meet established medical-care standards, so they don't need a health survey, a Letter of Medical Necessity or a practitioner review. You select Truemed at checkout, enter your HSA/FSA card, and keep your receipt.*

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)?

An LMN is a letter from an independent licensed practitioner stating that a product may be needed to address a specific health condition. Through Truemed, a practitioner reviews your clinical intake form and decides whether to issue one.

How do I get an LMN?

Select Truemed at checkout and complete the health survey (clinical intake form). A practitioner reviews it and, if appropriate, issues your LMN, which is emailed to you with your receipt.

How do I pay with my HSA or FSA?

Add an eligible product to your cart, choose “Truemed – Pay with HSA/FSA” at the standard checkout, and follow the steps. Express buttons such as Shop Pay and Apple Pay skip this option.

Can I split payment between my HSA/FSA card and another card?

Yes, on one-time purchases. If your HSA/FSA card falls short, or your cart includes items that aren't eligible, you can pay the remainder with a personal credit or debit card.

Does it cost extra to use Truemed?

The cost of Truemed's services is included in the purchase price of eligible products.

When do FSA funds expire?

For most plans, FSA funds expire at the end of the year. Deadlines vary by plan, so check with your plan administrator.

Yes. HSA/FSA is one option at checkout, and our standard payment methods remain available for every product.
