Infrared Sauna Blanket Pre-Heat and Care Guide

The Home Retreat Infrared Sauna Blanket is built around a simple routine: pre-heat, lie down, set your time, and wipe it down when you are done. This guide covers the pre-heat habit, the controller, and how to keep the blanket clean and stored.

This is a setup and care guide. Your English user manual, included in the box, covers anything this article does not.

What Is in the Box

  • Home Retreat Infrared Sauna Blanket
  • Hand controller
  • Power cord (US plug, 100-240V)
  • Carry bag
  • Instructions (English user manual)

The blanket measures 71 x 83 in (180 x 210 cm) opened flat and 71 x 35 in (180 x 90 cm) folded for use. It weighs about 9.7 lb and has a neck opening so your head stays out. It heats with far infrared and does not include red light.

Where to Set It Up

Lay the blanket on your bed, sofa or a yoga mat. Make sure the cord reaches an outlet without stretching, and keep the surface clear of anything that should not be near heat. If you like, lie on a towel. Check your manual for any surface or placement notes.

The Pre-Heat Habit

The product page recommends switching the blanket on before you get in, and a short pre-heat is a habit worth building. Here is the rhythm:

  1. Lay it out and plug it in.
  2. Set your temperature and timer. The hand controller has separate buttons for each.
  3. Let it warm up. Check the manual for how long to pre-heat.
  4. Lie down and wrap in. Fold the sides over you, with your head out through the neck opening.

Using the Controller

You can choose any temperature from 30 to 75°C (86 to 167°F) and a session length from 5 to 60 minutes. The controller has a temperature button and a timer button. If it is your first session, start at a lower temperature and a shorter time, then adjust as you get comfortable. Your manual describes the controller display.

During a Session

Keep water nearby and drink before and after. The product page describes a dry, enveloping heat from far infrared heating elements and calls it a sweat session, so plan for a towel and a glass of water. If anything feels uncomfortable, stop and follow the manual.

Cleaning and Storage

Wipe it down after each use. The waterproof surface wipes clean. Check your manual for what to wipe it with and how to dry it.

Fold it into the carry bag. The blanket folds up for storage. Let the surface dry first.

Treat the cord with care. Coil it loosely rather than wrapping it tight, and keep the blanket from being bent or creased in the same spot every time.

Built-In Safety Features

The product page lists overheat protection that automatically reduces power if the blanket overheats, and an insulated fire-protection heating line. It has been verified by BCTC, an independent testing laboratory, to CE electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and RoHS restricted-substances standards.

Safety and Who Should Check With a Doctor First

If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or use an implanted medical device, check with your doctor before using a sauna blanket.
